If you are a defendant, standing before a Judge - not knowing 'The Law' - isn't allowed as a justification for your actions. And then, if you're standing before a corrupt judge who passed muster in Congress, it might not matter whether you know the law. Worst case scenario, with a corrupt `President' in office, you may go directly to jail, without even exchanging niceties with the Judge. It behooves us to understand our legal system, it behooves us even more, to prevent rancid laws from being passed and rancid appointments `passing muster' - so we don't have to stand before a rancid judge for rancid reasons, or rot away, in a rancid jail.
If we work incredibly long hours, or don't know how to access Government data in a cost free, timely manner, much that happens in the Federal Government escapes our knowledge. Worse, laws we may have protested to our Representatives about, are passed with no support from millions of citizens. This Diary was written with the intent to shed some light on the workings of our PUBLIC SERVANTS in DC, with data straight from the horse's mouth, via Government web pages.
I don’t know if ‘enjoy’ is the right word, but read on, do a word check for your Senators, House Representatives, then go to Part II and check out the continued House Bills and Senate Bills, then Part III, for Resolutions, Reports, Votes, etc., Judicial and other Nominees, Executive Orders given during the last four plus years, and check out some of the numerous government data links.
(Note on data sources: if the `Source' isn't noted at the bottom of the blue boxes, the source (usually a "Thomas.gov," or other "...gov" web-page), is evident when the orange link(s) in the blue box(es), is/are highlighted or clicked on. Boldfacing - pertaining to highlighting: full titles; sponsors (and the States, they represent); and oddities (such as missing data, or access to data), of legislation - is mine.)
